Cita Rescue Mission has been serving the local community for over 50 years. With the launch of their new building initiative, Helen’s House—a place where homeless women and mothers with children can find safety and hope—they were looking for a powerful, emotional video to reveal the urgent need for this project in the community. The goal was to secure additional funding to complete and sustain the project.

Objective: Our goal was to create a 1- to 2-minute film that clearly called people to take specific action by giving to the building campaign. One of the things that was important to Cita in this project was using powerful visuals to tell the story. This entailed a documentary style of actually walking into a homeless camp and capturing imagery, which was incredibly powerful.

Impact: In the following months, Cita was able to complete their building project. The video helped raise greater awareness for the mission and vision of Cita, as well as the Helen’s House project, within the community and among community partners. It received over 500 views in the community and was shown to live audiences totaling over 2,000 people.
